The first playstation was a Nintendo killer. With it's speed, graphics and diversity of games it was an instant succes. Instead of cartridges the playstation used CD's, which enabled the gamers to play copied games, aiding in the succes of the playstation. Playstation games became more and more popular, and Sony's game market share became bigger and bigger.
